It's that time of year again

Summer has come to a close and fall is well under way.  The trees have all turned golden, red and brown and the leaves have begun their fall.  Fall is here and winter will soon be upon us.  With the beautiful nature display and cooler weather also comes the holiday shopping season.

Can you believe it?  In only two more weeks, many will be celebrating Thanksgiving and only four more weeks after that X-mas!  For many of us, that means it is the time to start our Holiday shopping. The time to find that perfect gift (or several in some cases,) for a friend or loved one.

My shop at Crowsdance Designs has finally re-opened online and just in time for Holiday shopping!

I have new items in the shop and will be adding more daily as we approach the Holidays.  Everything I offer is quality handmade one of a kind!  Click the link below to go straight to the shop.

A springtime update

I hope everyone is having a lovely spring.
As always, the time has run away from me since my last post.  My kids have been keeping me busy and on my toes at all times.  My youngest, Mina, has now reached toddler status!  She loves running around, getting into things and climbing everything in sight.  Yuna is loving Kindergarten and has been doing her best to help me around the house on a daily basis.  Best of all, they get along beautifully!

Crowsdance Designs has opened a new location!

Much of my line of jewelry is now available here:  http://crowsdancedesigns.tictail.com/

My zibbet.com location, while still active, has been downgraded to a basic account with only 10 items visible at a time.

That's it for today's post.  The kids are getting restless and the "what are you doing mommy?" questions are flying.  I leave you now with an image of one of my latest creations!

Only 5 more days until Zibbet's re launch

As many of you may already know, I am now counting down the days until the re launch of the new Zibbet website.  Only five more days and the excitement is mounting!

Not to get ahead of things though.  It may take a few days to transfer all the data so Zibbet may be down for a few days.  In the meantime, if you want to see my work, you can still check out my gallery site at www.crowsdance.wix.com/crowsdance to see my past work or you can find me on Facebook

Did I mention this is exciting?  I'm excited!!

Crowsdance Designs on Zibbet

Crowsdance Designs is back online!

That's right, I'm back!  I know, I know, it has been a while since my last blog post, but it has been for good reason.  As of January 28th, I have a new baby girl (Mina)  and I was taking a much needed maternity leave.

Now that things have calmed back down and fallen into a somewhat normal routine again, I have decided to bring Crowsdance Designs, my online shop on Zibbet.com, back online.

Here is the link to the main storefront:

I have a bunch of new jewelry and artwork on the way, ready to be listed, but I'm holding off on listing it just yet.  As some of you may have heard, Zibbet.com is releasing a new rebuild of the site sometime this month which I am eagerly looking forward to.  In light of that, I am holding off listing new items until the rebuild is released.  I want to use the opportunity to get used to the new system when it arrives.

In the meantime, I still have over 300 products readily available, be it a new pair of earrings or an art print to adorn your wall.

I hope to see you in the shop!

Painted jack o lanterns and welcome fall

I can't believe it is October already!

The air is cooling down, the trees are turning red, gold and yellow.  Most of the garden has been harvested and pumpkin everything season is here.

A trip to the local pumpkin patch and corn maze marked the official beginning of fall for me and my family.  This year, My four year old daughter Yuna decided to make it her business to try everything they had there.  She danced to the live music, rode the zoo animal train, played mini golf, and pet the goats.  We enjoyed fresh strawberry lemonade , soft giant pretzels, and delicious pumpkin muffins and pumpkin bread.
Of course, last but not least, Yuna picked out the perfect Halloween pumpkin.

Since Yuna is only four, I opted out of craving the pumpkins into jack o lanterns and instead brought out the soy based paint to paint them instead.  The paint, being water based and non toxic seemed like the best option.

Yuna followed my lead like a pro, painting her pumpkin with a great big happy smile and adding black and red striped on the back.  She even managed to keep most of the paint off her hands and clothes.  Since the paint is water soluble, the little bit she did get on her clothes washed away easily in the next load of laundry.

Lastly, after the paint dried, I sprayed the pumpkins down with a clear paint finish.  These will be sitting outside on the porch and it would be a shame if the paint melted away the first time it rained.

All in all, I think they turned out to be a great success!
